Terms

Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and [Legal entity name] ("we", "us"), of [Registered address]. We operate the scheduling service at book.select. Questions about these terms go to [Contact email].
The service
book.select lets a business publish booking pages. A page can live on a name under book.select, such as acme.book.select, or on a domain the business connects. Guests pick a time on that page. The business can send mail from its own sender address, require a captcha on the booking form, and take payment through Stripe when it turns payments on.
Accounts
A person who creates an account gives a name, an email address, and a password. The password is stored only as a hash. The account holder is responsible for keeping the password private and for the booking pages created under the account. We may refuse or close an account that is used to break these terms or the law.
Businesses and their guests
When a guest books with a business, that business decides why the guest's details are used. The business is the controller of its guests' data. We process that data on the business's behalf so the booking page, the email, and any payment the business turned on can work. The privacy policy describes what we handle and which companies help us.
Using the service
Do not use book.select to break the law, to send mail the recipient did not ask for, to overload the service, or to pretend to be another business. Do not try to bypass the captcha, the rate limit, or another business's booking page. We may suspend a page or an account that does this.
Payments
Card payments run through Stripe, and only when the business enables them. Stripe's own terms apply to the card payment. We do not hold the card number. A price shown on the booking page is the business's price.
Email and domains
A business may set the address its booking mail is sent from. The business must be allowed to use that address and any domain it connects. Mail is delivered by our email provider. Messages can be delayed, filtered, or rejected by the recipient's email service. We do not promise that a message will reach the inbox.
Availability
We try to keep the service available. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted. We may change or remove a feature. If we close the service, we will tell account holders at the email on the account when we can.
Ending use
An account holder may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to delete the account by writing to [Contact email]. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Bookings already made stay available to the business and the guest for the time described in the privacy policy.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost bookings, lost profits, or indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of [Governing law / jurisdiction]. The courts of that place hear disputes about them, except where the law gives you a right to bring a claim somewhere else.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
